below a couple of videos from Tapovan Village…one from a walk through the village itself and the second, a “quiet” street corner in the center of town
Below a couple of videos to give you some idea of the extent of the experience that is VARANASSI
A short video I took at an Indian friend’s wedding
This is a lovely video I took with a true feel of the area around Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh. The sounds and sights of the place. You can even see the lovely scene of a lady feeing the holy cow, and blessing her (or perhaps asking for a blessing for herself) by touching the cow’s head. Today, while down there, without my camera of course, I was witness to this same cow giving birth and seeing the beauty of instinct, the speed at which the calf stood up, and the cheering on of the crown standing around.
This IS a snakecharmer in India, but if I didn’t see it, I would bet that the music was coming from Bagpipes!
This Puja, religious ceremony, is held each day at sunset at the Shiva Ghat in Rishikesh
Performed each day at sunset, this puja is attended by thousands from all over India. Held in Hardiwar one of India’s holy cities along the Ganges.
Main intersection in downtown Rishikesh…this is a fairly quiet day as it is wintry cold (not the women’s clothing) and so not too many people are out…
India can be just as quiet and tranquil as it is noisy and turbulant. That is part of its lure. This is a short taste of the quiet of the mountain forest just above Dharamkot, Dharamsala.
